Trunk is for travellers, not tourists.
We specialise in carefully putting together small groups of like-minded people and navigating them through the most exciting, colourful and complex country on earth.
Trunk is for people who like their travel to be unhurried but full of profound experiences; who want to see the sights, but then step off the beaten track to see the real India; who want to confront the raw exhilaration of Indian life by day and talk about it over a cocktail that evening.
Join us for the holiday of a lifetime, with people who may become friends for life.
There are many travel companies that skid across the surface of India. Trunk digs a little deeper and moves at a more leisurely pace allowing you to not only see the wonderful sights but also to feel the many ways of life of the multitude of cultures that make up India.
After all, a holiday should allow time to reflect and be an opportunity to experience a different culture & way of life, to in turn, serve as a means to reaffirm & re-evaluate ones own life.
Trunk’s intimate tours through the various parts of India allow you do just that. We won’t lead you, but guide you to the experiences you wish for, be they the sights, the spiritualism, the culture, the history, the nature, the food (at restaurants, on street corners, in family homes) or simply the time to relax and reflect.
You’ll come home with a new understanding of India, and most likely a burning desire to return.
I have been travelling to India since I was 13 years old, and it is a place that is now firmly rooted in my heart.
At that time my mother started taking tours from Australia to India. They were small groups promoted by word-of-mouth, and she ran two tours a year for nearly 20 years. I travelled with mum many times and gradually fell in love with the colours, sounds, food, religions and people of India.
Today I’m a touring musician and artist and as such I find the country a sanctuary and endlessly inspiring, but also somewhere that quickly brings me back to earth. That’s the magic of India. It has a way of lifting you higher than you ever thought possible, whilst at the same time putting everything into perspective. It is tragic and overwhelming, intoxicating and beautiful beyond description. I love the music, stories, religions, paradoxes, food and, above all, the people of India, and that’s why I want to share it all with you.
Drawing on the knowledge gleaned from my years on the road playing music, tapping into my mother’s vast knowledge of India and working closely with a travel agency in based Delhi, I am putting together some really special itineraries.
